DePaul Women’s Soccer Begins its 2024 Campaign

Blue Demons welcome Huskies for Thursday battle
CHICAGO – DePaul women's soccer opens its 2024 fall season when in-state opponent Northern Illinois (NIU) visits Wish Field on Thursday, Aug. 15.
Kickoff is set for 4 p.m. CT in Lincoln Park. Fans can stream the match live on FloSports and follow live stats on StatBroadcast.
The Blue Demons return 20 letterwinners from their 2023 season, where they posted a 6-7-4 record. Key returning players include veterans Freya Jupp, Elena Milam, Susie Soderstrom, and captain Beth Smyth. The team also welcomes 11 newcomers this season, including 10 true freshmen and transfer Briley Hill from Nebraska.
Head coach Michele O'Brien is preparing for her fourth season at the helm, with assistant coaches Peter McKeown (second season) and Brendan Roth (first season) rounding out the 2024 Blue Demons' staff.

- Head coach Michael O'Neill enters his third season leading the Huskies
- NIU finished its 2023 campaign with an overall record of 8-8-3, including a 6-4-1 record in the Mid-American Conference
- The Huskies posted their highest win total since 2017 and qualified for the MAC tournament for the first time since that year
- In 2023, the Huskies recorded two 3-0 shutouts against Western Illinois and Eastern Illinois
- Coach O'Neill added three transfers to the roster: Kelsi McLaughlin, Amy Stineman, and Ary Purifoy
