
Softball Names Christina Sutcliffe Associate Head Coach

Sutcliffe brings 15 years of head coaching experience to DePaul
CHICAGO – DePaul softball head coach Liz Bouck-Jagielski announced on Tuesday the addition of Christina Sutcliffe to the coaching staff as Associate Head Coach/Pitching Coach. Sutcliffe brings 15 years of head coaching experience to Lincoln Park including the last 12 seasons leading the program at Northern Illinois.
"Adding Sut to the coaching staff provides us with a seasoned Division I head coach with a wealth of strategic knowledge. She is a master of recruiting, having experience recruiting talent from all parts of the country" said Bouck-Jagielski.
"Having been a star pitcher at Florida Atlantic, her primary responsibilities will be pitcher development and strategy. It is my privilege and honor to work beside Sut to help DePaul reclaim its place on the national stage."
Sutcliffe joins the Blue Demons program after departing Northern Illinois as the third-winningest head coach in program history with 287 wins. In her first five seasons, Sutcliffe led the Huskies to top-three finishes in the MAC West Division including a 35-win season in 2016 highlighted by the first MAC West Division title for the program since 2000.

From 2013-2024, 34 Huskies were named All-MAC while 16 earned All-Region distinction. Under Sutcliffe, four student-athletes earned Academic All-American honors and 16 more were tabbed CSC Academic All-District.
Prior to landing in DeKalb, Sutcliffe spent seven seasons as the pitching coach for Miami University where the RedHawks won a pair of MAC titles and set records for wins in a season and conference wins. During her tenure in Oxford, Sutcliffe tutored 25 All-Mid-American selections while five RedHawks earned NFCA All-Region honors.
Her coaching career began in 2002, where she was an assistant coach at Chattanooga before earning her first head coaching position at Rhode Island (2003-2005).
Sutcliffe was a four-year letter winner at Florida Atlantic (FAU) from 1997-2001, helping the Owls win five Trans America Athletic Conference (TAAC) Tournament Championships. Sutcliffe compiled a career record of 67-23 in the pitcher's circle with 351 strikeouts, a 1.47 ERA, 25 shutouts and two no-hitters. A four-time All-TAAC selection and was named the TAAC Tournament MVP in 1997. She was inducted into the FAU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2019.
