DePaul to Compete at 45th National Catholic Invite

Blue Demons ready for Notre Dame Invitational Friday
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – DePaul cross country travels to Notre Dame for the 45th Annual National Catholic Invitational on Friday, Sept. 20. The women's 5k race is set to begin at 2:30 p.m. CT, followed by the men's 8k race at 3:15 p.m. CT, at the Burke Golf Course in South Bend, Ind.
The Blue Demons took home first place in both the women's 5k and the men's 4-mile races in their last outing at NIU's Huskie Invite, Friday, Sept. 6. Damian Rodriguez led the way for the men with a time of 19:48.94 in the 4-mile race, while Meghan Dieball finished second in the women's 5k with a time of 18:09.46.
DePaul last competed in the National Catholic Invite in September 2018, where the men placed eighth and the women finished ninth in their respective events.
Eleven Catholic institutions will compete on Friday in South Bend, including Bellarmine, Canisius, DePaul, Detroit Mercy, Lewis, Loyola Chicago, Marquette, Niagara, Notre Dame, St. Francis (Ill.), and Thomas More.
Both of Notre Dame's teams are ranked in the USTFCCCA Top-25 poll heading into the event, with the women's team at No. 3 and the men's team at No. 7 in the country.
