DePaul Hosts Xavier on Alumni Day Saturday

CHICAGO – DePaul men's soccer closes out the month of September with a match against Xavier on Saturday, Sept. 28 at Wish Field. The two sides will square off at 2 p.m. with the Blue Demons welcoming back former letterwinners for its annual alumni day in Lincoln Park.

Live action will be aired on FloFC with Peter Ferreri and Noah Coffman on the call.

Back for another year, fans are encouraged to bring their dogs to Saturday's match as part of DePaul's 'Pups at the Pitch' promotion. Tickets can be purchased here.

Demon Doings

The Blue Demons are 3-4-1 in 2024 and 0-1 through one BIG EAST match.
DePaul is coming off a 3-1 victory over Loyola Chicago on Tuesday, Sept. 24., the program's first win over the Ramblers since 2013.
Sophomore midfielder Noeh Hernandez tallied four points against Loyola with a goal and two assists while George Wyatt and Liam Mullins each recorded a goal for the second time this season.
Senior goalkeeper Santiago Davila recorded a career-high nine assists against the Ramblers on 10 shots faced.
With 18 goals on the season, DePaul ranks second in the BIG EAST in scoring offense and top-25 nationally. The Blue Demons are one goal away from tying their season output from 2023.
11 unique goal scorers have found the back of the net in 2024, the most since the 2013 season when 13 different Blue Demons scored.
DePaul has yet to be shutout on the season and conversely has not earned a shutout in 2024. The Blue Demons have netted three or more goals on three occasions.
The Blue Demons have assisted on every goal scored this season with Noeh Hernandez totaling a BIG EAST-best six assists.
Hernandez's total assists and assists per game ranks sixth nationally and eighth in DePaul's single-season record book. His 12 points is good for second in the conference.
Forwards Keagan Pace and Logan Finnegan own eight and seven points, respectively.
Freshman defender Nolan McGuire tallied a three-point effort against then-No. 25 UConn last week, recording the first goal of his career while also notching an assist en route to BIG EAST Freshman of the Week honors.

Xavier Notes

The Musketeers are 4-2-3 overall and 1-0-0 in conference play and have won two in a row after wins over St. John's (1-0) and Evansville (2-0) within the last week. Xavier boasts a victory over then-No. 2 Marshall in back in August.
Xavier, the 2023 BIG EAST Champion, was selected to finish second in the Midwest Division of the Preseason Coaches' Poll.
Junior defender Matthew Senanou leads Xavier with three goals while goalkeeper Jonny Mennell has a league-best five clean sheets to his credit in 2024 and a goals against average of .078.
John Higgins is in his third year season the Musketeers.

Series Stuff

Saturday marks the 23rd time the two programs will meet with Xavier holding a 16-3-3 edge in the series including an 8-2-2 record since the two became conference foes in 2013.
The last time the Musketeers visited Lincoln Park the two sides drew, 1-1.
DePaul's most recent victory in the series came in October of 2021, a 3-2 overtime decision in Cincinnati.
