PARIS, France – DePaul track and field's Noelle Malkamaki won her first Paralympic gold medal in the Shot Put F46 Final Wednesday morning at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games. Malkamaki broke her own world record twice during the event, with a maximum distance of 14.06 meters, cementing her status as the best in the world.
With her record-breaking performance at the Stade de France in Saint-Denis, France, Malkamaki became the first woman in the F46 shot put category to throw over 14 meters in competition.
Malkamaki also became the second DePaul University athlete to medal at an Olympic or Paralympic Games alongside Arlene Limas (DePaul '90) who won gold in Tae Kwon Do at the 1988 games in Seoul, Korea.
