DePaul Impresses at Pat Heenan Invitational

Blue Demons close Saturday in Naperville with solid performances
NAPERVILLE, Ill. – DePaul track and field delivered a strong showing at the Pat Heenan Invitational on Saturday at Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium in Naperville, Illinois, with impressive results in both field and track events, highlighted by personal and season-best marks.
In the men's field events, Alex Bernstein captured first place in the weight throw with a season-best effort of 20.57m. Quinton Boyd followed in third, achieving a personal best of 18.20m. The shot put saw Jaiden Gary top the field with a throw that measured 17.18m, while Boyd secured fifth. In the high jump, Patrick Diakite reached 1.95m, a performance that earned him third place and marked his season best.
The women's field events featured standout performances from Kash Allen, who placed second in the weight throw and claimed victory in the shot put with marks of 15.89m and 13.88m, respectively. Olivia Austin earned fourth place in the shot put, setting a personal best with her throw, while teammate Laila Richardson achieved fifth with a new personal best of her own in the weight throw and another solid effort in the shot put. In the high jump, Eveline Reno and Amelia Barrington shared first-place honors, both clearing 1.62m.
On the men's track, DePaul found success in the 60m hurdles. In the prelims, Harper Bryan placed third and Jordan Reddick fourth, with times of 8.58 and 8.69. The finals saw Reddick move up to second place with 8.42, while Bryan closed out in fifth. The 1 mile race featured a strong group effort, with William Previdi taking third place. Behind him, Nick Kamp and Griffin Lehnhardt achieved personal bests to finish fourth and fifth.
In the women's track events, Ashley Noel advanced to the 60m finals after a fifth-place finish in the prelims with a time of 8.00. She matched that placement in the finals, clocking in at 8.06. Meanwhile, the 1 mile race was led by Grace Havern, who earned third place, with Sara Cordova following closely in fifth.
