Three School Records Secured at Notre Dame Invite

Brown, Hudak, Rolle break program records Saturday
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – DePaul track and field made its mark at the Notre Dame Invitational on Saturday at the Loftus Sports Center, with record-breaking efforts and several top-three finishes across a variety of events.
"While I am pleased with the team's performance this weekend, I see plenty of room for improvement," said head coach Dave Dopek. "As we progress through the indoor season, we need to focus even more on the finer details. Racing and competing with greater urgency and earned confidence will be crucial. This team has significant potential for growth between now and the BIG EAST Championships. We just need to get back to work and approach the season one meet at a time."
In the men's field events, Alex Bernstein secured second place in the weight throw with a mark of 20.40m. The high jump saw Patrick Diakite earn a second-place finish after clearing 1.91m.
Leading the way for the women's field events, Jaiah Hopf captured first place in the long jump with a season-best effort of 6.09m. Eveline Reno followed with a dominant performance in the triple jump, taking first with a season-best of 11.93m. A strong showing in the shot put saw Olivia Austin achieve a personal best of 12.21m to claim second place, while Laila Richardson rounded out the top-three finishes in the weight throw with a personal best of 13.12m.
On the men's track, the day was highlighted by a school record from Demetrius Rolle in the 60m. Rolle won both the prelims (6.77, PR) and finals (6.73, PR) to break the record. Darius Brown also added another program-best mark in the 60m hurdles, posting a prelim time of 7.61 before winning the finals in 7.98. Dustin Hudak capped off the record-breaking performances with a win in the 800m, clocking a personal best of 1:49.03. Meanwhile, Dominic Cole earned a second-place finish in the 200m with a time of 22.15, and Tyce Smith secured another second-place result in the 400m, crossing the line in 48.62.
For the women's track events, Jetta Mays placed second in the 60m with a season-best time of 7.54. Not far behind, Nevaeh Lowe set a personal best of 7.71 to finish fourth. In the 200m, Claire Dunn took second with a time of 25.00, while Nadja Moll earned third in the 400m with a time of 57.89. Sonja Nagle followed closely in fourth, achieving a personal best of 57.95. A standout performance in the 3000m saw Tessa Roe finish second, recording a personal best of 9:38.26.
The relays rounded out the competition for DePaul. The men's 4x400m team, featuring Tyce Smith, John Bush, Dustin Hudak, and Joshua Edmonds, placed second with a time of 3:18.42. On the women's side, Kayliah Motes, Lauren Pacsi, Amelia Montgomery, and Alyssa Leak teamed up to secure third place in 3:59.57.
