Track and Field Posts Strong Marks in South Bend

Hopf breaks school record, Brown, Bernstein secure first-place
SOUTH BEND, Ind. – DePaul track and field wrapped up the Meyo Invitational with a strong showing on Saturday, highlighted by Jaiah Hopf's school record in the triple jump and Darius Brown's first-place finish in the 60m hurdles. Alex Bernstein also secured a win in the weight throw, while multiple Blue Demons posted season-best marks and top-five finishes to close out the team's first two-day invite of the season.
In women's field events, Hopf dominated once again, winning the long jump (5.80m) before shattering her own school record in the triple jump (12.76m, SB). Kash Allen secured third in the shot put (14.67m) before improving to a season-best 17.58m in the weight throw, adding another third-place finish. Eveline Reno cleared a season-best 1.66m in the high jump, finishing seventh.
The men's field events featured another victory from Alex Bernstein, who topped the weight throw with a 19.76m mark. Jaiden Gary took second in the shot put (17.37m), adding another podium finish for the Blue Demons, while also setting a personal best in the weight throw (15.77m) to take seventh place. Thomas Goggin rounded out DePaul's throwers with a PR of 14.49m in the weight throw, finishing 14th.
On the women's track side, Sade Miller and Jetta Mays secured third and fourth place in the 60m final, running 7.60 and 7.61, respectively, after advancing through prelims. Kayliah Motes and Claire Dunn both clocked season-best times in the 400m championship, finishing fifth (56.40) and sixth (56.45), respectively. The 600m saw Lauren Pacsi set a personal best of 1:36.04 for 13th, while Amelia Montgomery followed closely behind in 14th with a PR of 1:36.60. In the mile, Meghan Dieball secured a seventh-place finish with a personal-best 4:45.97, while Vivian Wyller lowered her 3000m time to a PR of 10:07.35, finishing 20th. The women's 4x400m relay team of Kayliah Motes, Sonia Nagle, Nadja Moll, and Claire Dunn capped off the day with a third-place finish in a season-best 3:48.55.
The men's track events were highlighted by Darius Brown's first-place finish in the 60m hurdles, running 7.65 in the final after leading prelims with 7.66Q. Jorden Reddick followed with a personal-best 8.35 to place fourth in the final. Dominic Cole clocked a season-best 6.93 in the 60m final, placing seventh. In the 400m championship, Tyce Smith secured fourth place with a season-best 48.13. Dustin Hudak placed sixth in the 800m championship, running 1:49.84, while Mohamed Abdullahi set a PR in the mile, finishing 32nd in 4:19.07.
