Blue Demons face second road contest of the week
CHICAGO – DePaul men's basketball looks to snap a two-game skid as they travel to take on Seton Hall, Wednesday evening from New Jersey. The Blue Demons will tip off at 5:30 p.m. on Peacock with Noah Eagle and Nick Bahe on the call. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have DePaul's radio broadcast on Sirius XM and DePaul Blue Demons App.
LAST TIME OUT
Jacob Meyer led DePaul in scoring for the fourth time this season with 13 points Saturday against Villanova. The Blue Demons dropped the contest, falling to 9-6 overall and 0-4 in the BIG EAST. A total of four DePaul players scored in double-digits as Isaiah Rivera tallied 11 points and Layden Blocker and NJ Benson had 10 points apiece.
Benson has a stretch of three-straight games in double-digit scoring, tying his personal best streak of three games. The junior is averaging 14.0 points, 11.7 rebounds and 1.0 blocks per game as a starter.
THE SERIES
Seton Hall leads the all-time series 25-10, including a 14-2 advantage in New Jersey. DePaul's last win in the series came in the 2023 BIG EAST Tournament with a 66-65 victory. The Blue Demons last regular-season victory was Jan. 13, 2022. DePaul will look for its first road win in the series since 2019.
SCOUTING SETON HALL
Seton Hall (5-9, 0-3 BIG EAST) boasts one of the top defenses in the nation, holding opponents to under 64 points per game and forcing 14.07 turnovers per game. The Pirates are also in search of their first BIG EAST win after losses to Villanova, Georgetown and Xavier.
Isaiah Coleman is the Pirates leading scorer, averaging 14.3 points per game and 5.0 rebounds. The sophomore is shooting 36.4 percent from three and also averaging 1.7 steals per game.
