Joon Han nets lone tally for Blue Demons
MILWAUKEE, Wis. – DePaul men's soccer dropped a 4-1 decision on the road Saturday night to rival Marquette at Valley Fields. The Blue Demons move to 2-7-6 overall and 0-5-1 in BIG EAST play with two regular season matches remaining.
After a tightly contested opening 20 minutes, Marquette converted a penalty in the 18th minute to take the early advantage. The Blue Demons continued to generate chances, but the Golden Eagles extended their lead with three second-half goals before DePaul broke through in the closing minutes. Redshirt-sophomore Joon Han converted a penalty in the 88th minute, tallying his third goal of the season to put DePaul on the board.
DePaul recorded 10 shots in the match, including three on target, led by Han and sophomore Tyler Flowers, who each placed attempts on frame. Graduate goalkeeper Santiago Davila made four saves.
Despite the final scoreline, DePaul's young group continued to show resilience against a physical Marquette side, holding the Golden Eagles to just three first-half shots and creating consistent attacking pressure out of midfield. The Blue Demons also limited Marquette's corner opportunities, conceding just one on the night.
