Blue Demons set for battle after bye week
CHICAGO – The Scarlet and Blue are set to travel to the Purdue Invite at the Schwartz Tennis Center in West Lafayette, Indiana, with competition beginning on Friday, October 31 and concluding on Sunday, November 2.
Cincinnati and Miami (OH) will join the Blue Demons as the visitors at the tournament. All three days will feature a dual format, with doubles competition followed by singles.
Action begins at 8 a.m. CT on Friday for DePaul against Miami (OH). Saturday opens with a battle between the Blue Demons and the Bearcats at the same time slot. The tournament concludes on Sunday when DePaul faces the host Purdue Boilermakers at 12 p.m. CT. The individual matchups against each team have not yet been determined.
The weekend marks the team's final contest in the fall, but the Blue Demons will play their last tournament at Northwestern on January 9-11, 2026, before beginning the dual season a week later.
Last time out, DePaul competed at the ITA Midwest Regionals from Oct. 16-18 in Champaign, Illinois. The doubles duo of freshman Clara Nilsson and senior Hannah Smith highlighted the Blue Demons' efforts, tallying a 2-1 weekend, including a round of 16 appearance. Nilsson and Smith are finding their groove, having won three of their last four matches.
Freshman Yasemin Pehlivan, junior Sasha Stula, and Smith all reached the singles main draw at the event. The trio has combined for 18 of DePaul's 24 singles victories this fall.
