Local foes tipoff at 11 a.m. inside Wintrust Arena
CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball returns to Wintrust Arena for the first time in nearly two weeks Monday, Nov. 17 when Northwestern visits the South Loop for an 11a.m. tipoff. Tickets for the non-conference tilt can be purchased here, while fans at home can find the action broadcast on ESPN+ with Dorian Craft and Kenny McReynolds on the call.
The matchup will serve as DePaul's annual field trip day with thousands of Chicagoland school children expected to be in attendance. Since 2008, the long-running initiative has provided more than 67,000 students with complimentary admission to a women's basketball game, highlighting the department's commitment to community engagement.
Demon Doings
DePaul returns home with a 1-2 record after dropping a competitive road battle at Bradley on Wednesday evening. Against the Braves, the Blue Demons placed four starters in double figures and continued to show early-season growth despite a cold shooting night.
Junior guard Kate Novik has made an immediate impact in her first three games as a Blue Demon. The junior transfer leads DePaul with 17.0 points per game while shooting 50 percent from the field and 60 percent from three-point range. She collected the fourth double-double of her career and first at DePaul with 12 points and 10 rebounds against Bradley.
Redshirt-freshman Ally Timm is averaging 16.7 points per game and has connected on a team-best 11 three-pointers at a 44-percent clip. Sophomore Natiah Nelson has stepped up in an expanded role, averaging 15.0 points and a team-leading 8.7 rebounds per game on 60-percent shooting from the field.
DePaul's defensive activity has been a defining early-season strength, averaging 12.0 steals and 5.7 blocks per game while owning a +10 turnover margin heading into Wednesday's game.
Scouting Northwestern
The Wildcats are 3-0 through the first two weeks of the season with victories over IU Indy, SIUE and Maryland Eastern Shore. Northwestern is led by frontcourt tandem Grace Sullivan and Tyla Thomas who are averaging 19.7 and 12.7 points per game, respectively. Thomas paces the 'Cats on the board with 11.7 rebounds per game.
