DePaul Visits No. 1 UConn Sunday

Tipoff set for 12 p.m. CT on FS1
STORRS, Conn. – DePaul women's basketball faces its first ranked opponent of the season Sunday with a trip to No. 1 UConn. Tipoff from inside Gampel Pavilion is set for 12 p.m. CT with Kylen Mills and Kim Adams handling the broadcast on FS1.

Demon Doings
DePaul is 2-7 and 0-1 in BIG EAST action after dropping an 85-54 decision to Marquette Thursday night in the league opener. Against the Golden Eagles, redshirt-freshman Alayna West netted a career-high 17 points on 62-percent shooting from the floor while junior guard Kate Novik finished with 11 points. Novik has paced DePaul on the offensive end, scoring in double figures in seven of nine games and averaging a team-best 13.9 points per game.
The Blue Demons look to solidify additional options on the offensive end after being held below 60 points in three-straight games. DePaul has continued to share the ball well through the first month of the season, averaging 17.6 assists per game which ranks in the top 30 nationally. In the last six games, the Blue Demons have assisted on 80-percent of its made field goals.
Scouting UConn
The top-ranked Huskies are 8-0 this season and 1-0 in conference play. Azzi Fudd and Sarah Strong pace the pack with 18.5 and 17.6 points per game, respectively. As a team, UConn is second nationally in assists per game with 23.4 per contest. Geno Auriemma is in his 41st season at the helm of the program and led the Huskies to their 12th National Championship in 2025.
Series Stuff
UConn leads the all-time series 26-1. The Blue Demons won the first meeting in the series 70-64 in Minneapolis Dec. 28, 1983. A season ago, the two sides met just once with the Huskies claiming an 84-58 victory at Wintrust Arena.
