WASHINGTON, D.C. – DePaul women's basketball will meet Georgetown for the lone time this season on Sunday, Feb. 9 inside McDonough Arena. Tipoff is scheduled for 1 p.m. CT.

DePaul (11-14, 6-6 BIG EAST) rounds out its East Coast road trip looking to snap a three-game winless streak after a 76-63 loss at Providence on Thursday night.

Against the Friars, the Blue Demons were stifled in the first quarter and couldn't recover from the early deficit despite three players finishing with 18 or more points. Redshirt-junior Meg Newman recorded her first double-double of the season with 19 points and 12 rebounds while Jorie Allen finished with 19 points of her own for her 25th-straight game in double figures. Taylor Johnson-Matthews posted 18 points, six rebounds and a career-best three blocks against Providence.

For the season, Allen is second in the BIG EAST in scoring with 19.0 points per game while her 3.9 assists is fifth in the league. The graduate forward has made 157 free throws this season which is third in Division I and third on DePaul's single-season charts. Her 25-game double-figure scoring streak is third-best in program history.Â

Johnson-Matthews has finished with 10 or more points in 19 games this season including the last three outings. Her conference scoring average of 17.25 points per game ranks fifth among all players. She is shooting a team-best 36-percent from three-point range.

DePaul has collected 10 or more offensive rebounds on 20 occasions this season as it leads the league with 13.3 per game. Newman paces the Blue Demons on the glass with 8.0 rebounds an outing.

Georgetown is 11-11 this season and 4-7 in conference play after a 63-36 victory over Xavier on Wednesday evening in Cincinnati. Graduate guard Kelsey Ransom leads the BIG EAST with 19.6 points per game. Her 3.7 assists and 2.1 steals per game are also team-bests. Senior center Ariel Jenkins is averaging 12.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game and has totaled eight double-doubles on the season. Darnell Haney is in his second season leading the Hoyas program. His career record is 97-98.

The Blue Demons and Hoyas will face off for the 35th time on Sunday. DePaul leads the all-time series 28-6, but Georgetown has won the last three meetings. In games played in Washington, D.C., the Blue Demons are 12-3. The last time the two sides went head to head, Georgetown claimed a 44-42 victory at McDonough Arena on February 4, 2024.
