CHICAGO – As a part of the BIG EAST Conferences' Legends program, DePaul will recognize Quentin Richardson and Anna Martin at this year's men's and women's basketball conference championships.
A Chicago native, Quentin Richardson played for DePaul men's basketball from 1998-2000 before going on to be the 18th overall pick in the 2000 NBA Draft. Richardson was the 1999 USBWA National Freshman of the Year and Conference USA Player of the Year after a standout freshman season, averaging 18.9 points and 10.5 rebounds. He helped lead DePaul to the 2000 NCAA Tournament while becoming the first player in school history to have over 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 100 three-pointers. Richardson went on to a 13-year career in the National Basketball Association (NBA), including four seasons with the Los Angeles Clippers.
Anna Martin played for DePaul from 2009-2013 where she tallied 1,756 career points which ranks sixth on DePaul's all-time scoring list. She reached double-digit scoring in 89 of her 127 career games. Martin finished her career in the top 10 ranks in many categories including three-pointers, assists, games played, scoring and field goals made. Martin was a two-time honorable mention All-American and a finalist for the Wade Trophy award in 2012. Following her time at DePaul, Martin played professionally in Iceland before launching a career in global communications with stops at Nike and McDonald's.
The annual program began last year as each of the league's 11 schools are tasked with selecting a former prominent coach of player from both their men's and women's programs to be honored. DePaul's honorees in 2024 were Wilson Chandler and Khara Smith.
