
Blue Demons, Fighting Irish to Meet in Midweek Clash

CHICAGO – DePaul softball continues its road swing with a midweek contest at Notre Dame on Tuesday, April 8. The game is set to commence at 4 p.m. CT, with coverage here on ACC Network Extra. Admission at Melissa Cook Stadium in South Bend, Indiana is free for all fans.

DePaul continues its road swing against Villanova April 11-13, playing once each day. The games are slated for 2 p.m. Friday, 11 a.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. Sunday, with coverage on FloCollege and StatBroadcast. The Blue Demons return home to face local foe UIC at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, April 15.

BLUE DEMON BITS
- Leadoff hitter Baylee Cosgrove leads the team in batting average (.311), hits (33) and is the only Blue Demon perfect on stolen bases with at least five attempts (7-7)
- Over the weekend, designated player Lydia Ettema achieved a seven-game hitting streak, the longest such streak by any Blue Demon this season
- Ettema also leads the team in slugging percentage (.597), RBIs (19), and home runs (4), making a large leap from her freshman campaign where she only notched nine total hits in 36 at-bats
- Junior Bella Nigey retains a staff-best 2.19 ERA, reaching 50 strikeouts on the season over the weekend at St. John's
- Underclassmen have made a significant impact for the Blue Demons, with sophomore Morgan Rogers, redshirt-sophomore Kali Blount, and freshman Zoe Levine starting all 33 games this year
- The Irish are 18-21-1, including 6-9 in the Atlantic Coast Conference
- Most recently, Notre Dame took two of three from Pittsburgh at home for its second series win in league play, starting the weekend with a 5-4 walk-off victory
- Addison Ameral tops the team with a .393 average at the plate, 44 hits, and 32 RBIs, one of just two players to start all 40 games for Notre Dame
- Head coach Kris Ganeff is in her first year at the helm, assisting the team to 12 NCAA Regional finals and 11 conference titles in 23 years as an assistant in South Bend, Indiana
- The all-time series between the sides is knotted at 32-32-1, with the Irish holding a narrow 13-11-1 advantage at home
- The last meeting came on April 27, 2016 in South Bend, an 8-0 victory in five innings for Notre Dame
