Blue Demons Fall in Final Game of Season

DePaul takes two of three from Georgetown
WASHINGTON, D.C- DePaul softball fell to Georgetown on Saturday afternoon, 3-0. The Blue Demons conclude their season with a 16-32 record, including a 3-21 mark in BIG EAST play.
Bella Nigey opened in the circle for the third consecutive game, throwing three scoreless frames before conceding a pair in the fourth inning. Nigey allowed three total runs on seven hits, exiting in favor of Ava Gusel prior to the sixth frame. Gusel gave up just one hit and no runs.
Freshman Chelsea Parker was the lone Blue Demon to log multiple hits, with two on the day.

HOW IT HAPPENED
In the second frame, Kelly Beaupre logged the first base hit for either side and reached scoring position on a fielder's choice but was left on base.
Alexis Houge tallied a single in the third, but was caught stealing, and Chelsea Parker was also stranded in the fourth.
A double from Emily Strittmatter and RBI single from Hollie Pardini plated the first run of the game for Georgetown. Abby Kozo and Dayanara Campos logged singles of their own to extend the lead to two for the Hoyas.
An RBI single from Strittmatter scored Claire Turner from second to tack on a third run for Georgetown.
Despite a double from Bibianna Rodriguez in the final inning the Blue Demons could not push a run across with the bases loaded, and the Hoyas won, 3-0.
