Baylee Cosgrove Earns Conference Recognition

Second baseman tabbed to All-BIG EAST second team
CHICAGO – DePaul softball senior Baylee Cosgrove was named to the All-BIG EAST second team, as announced by the league Tuesday afternoon. The recognition marks the first regular season award for Cosgrove, after being selected to the All-BIG EAST Tournament team during her sophomore campaign.
The lone Blue Demon to start all 48 games at the same position, Cosgrove held down second base with a .967 fielding percentage and nine double plays turned, good for fifth in the conference.
At the plate, Cosgrove led DePaul from the leadoff spot in the lineup, notching a .320 batting average, her first season above .300, and leading the squad in hits (48), doubles (12), and on-base percentage (.420). She also registered 11 multi-hit games and reached base for 13 consecutive contests in the middle of the year. The Loda, Illinois native displayed her toughness throughout the season, being hit by 12 pitches, the most of any player in the league.
Cosgrove is studying to earn her degree in business management with a concentration in human resources from the DePaul Driehaus College of Business this June.
