Noelle Malkamaki set to compete in USATF Para National Championships Thursday
EUGENE, Oreg. – DePaul track and field alum and Paralympic champion Noelle Malkamaki is set to compete in the women's F46 shot put at the 2025 USATF Outdoor & Para National Championships, held at Hayward Field in Eugene. The event is scheduled for Thursday at 3:30 p.m. CT and will stream live on USATF.TV.
Malkamaki enters as the three-time defending national champion, having claimed the F46 title each year since 2022. Thursday's competition marks her return to national action for the first time since a historic performance at the 2024 Paris Paralympic Games.
At the Stade de France last summer, the Decatur, Ill., native captured gold with a world-record throw of 14.06 meters. She became the first woman in F46 history to surpass the 14-meter mark and broke her own world record twice during the competition. The victory made her just the second DePaul athlete to ever medal at the Olympics or Paralympics, joining 1988 Tae Kwon Do gold medalist Arlene Limas, and one of only three medalists in DePaul history alongside legendary women's basketball coach Doug Bruno.
A 2023 DePaul graduate, Malkamaki now returns to the national stage looking to extend her reign in the shot put circle and build on her dominance in the F46 classification.
