DePaul alum qualifies for 2025 World Para Athletics Championships with 12.63m mark
EUGENE, Ore. – In her return to the USATF Para Championships on Thursday, DePaul track and field alum Noelle Malkamaki clinched her fourth-consecutive national title in the women's F46 shot put classification with a best throw of 12.63m. The mark came on her second attempt and stood as the top performance of the competition, securing her place on Team USA for the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships.
Malkamaki delivered a strong and consistent series, adding throws of 12.46m and 12.53m later to close out her day. Her win continues a dominant stretch at the USATF Para Nationals, where she has remained unbeaten since 2022.
Her national title streak began in 2022, when she claimed her first championship with a 12.18m effort that set a new American record. In 2023, she broke the F46 world record with a throw of 12.63m en route to her second title, followed by a massive 13.32m mark in 2024.
With the victory, Malkamaki qualifies to represent Team USA at the 2025 World Para Athletics Championships, set for Sept. 27-Oct. 5 in New Delhi, India. The meet will bring together the top para-athletes from around the world as Malkamaki looks to add to her decorated international career.
