Demon Doings
DePaul is 1-0-2 heading into Sunday's non-conference matchup. The Blue Demons are coming off their first win of the season in a 2-1 defeat of Chicago State on Thursday afternoon. Against the Cougars, forwards Keagan Pace and Luca Iaccino netted first half goals to give the Blue Demons three points.
Through the first three regular season contests, the Blue Demons have earned 30 corner kick opportunities while limiting opponents to eight. DePaul is averaging 17.0 shots per contest to its opponents 12.3. Junior midfielder Noeh Hernandez boasts a team-best 12 shots in three matches while Pace has fired off nine.
DePaul has shown off its depth in the early going of the season with 22 of 25 available players logging minutes on the field in 2025.
The Blue Demons are unbeaten through the first three matches of the season for the first time since 2022 when they opened the campaign 2-0-2.
Scouting St. Thomas
The Tommies are 2-0-1 through the first week and a half of the regular season with victories over Chicago State and Utah Tech while earning a draw with Presbyterian College in the season opener. In the Summit League Preseason Coaches' Poll, St. Thomas was picked to finish seventh. Jon Lowery is in his 14th season leading the Tommies' program and welcomed back 17 letterwinners from a 2024 squad that went 4-10-2. Lowery and his staff had 11 newcomers join the fold this fall.Â
Series Stuff
Sunday is just the third meeting between DePaul and St. Thomas with each of the two previous matchups coming within the past four seasons. The Blue Demons own a 1-0-1 edge in the series with the Tommies behind a 3-1 victory at Wish Field in September of 2021.
Last season, the two teams fought to a 1-1 draw in St. Paul, Minn. with senior midfielder Nathaniel Enriquez providing the late equalizer in 82nd minute to earn a point on the road for the Blue Demons.
