DePaul Welcomes Creighton to Wish Field for BIG EAST Home Opener

Blue Demons and Bluejays kickoff at 2pm in Lincoln Park
CHICAGO – DePaul men's soccer returns to conference play Saturday afternoon when Creighton visits Wish Field for a 2 p.m. kick off. The BIG EAST home opener for the Blue Demons will stream live on ESPN+.
Admission to all DePaul soccer matches is free this season.
Demon Doings
The Blue Demons played its penultimate non-conference contest on Tuesday and fell 2-1 to Bowling Green. DePaul conceded a pair of goals in two minutes time and could only muster one strike of their own to fall to 2-2-5 on the 2025 campaign.
Against the Falcons, the Blue Demons put up 23 shots, a season-high and the most shots recorded in a match since a 1-0 overtime win at Northern Illinois Sept. 15, 2002. DePaul has recorded more shots than its opponents in eight of nine matches this season and ranks 12th in Division I and second in the BIG EAST with 16.3 per match.
DePaul has been consistent with its the pressure in the final third, earning 62 corner kicks while holding opponents to just 28 this fall. In the national rankings, the Blue Demons are 11th in corner kicks per match with an average of 6.89.
Before sidelined due to injury, Keagan Pace was one of DePaul's top threats up front, notching four goals in the first five matches. Noeh Hernandez has scored three goals this fall, recording DePaul's lone tally in the defeat to Bowling Green with a beauty of a strike off a free kick. Christian Baumgartner and Luca Iaccino each have two goals of their own. Six different Blue Demons have logged an assist through the first nine matches with Ethan Gordon and Jayden Waski leading the way with two apiece.
Graduate goalkeeper Santiago Davila has started seven matches and made 21 saves.
Scouting Creighton
The Bluejays enter Saturday's matchup on a four-game win streak and are 4-2-2 on the season and 1-0-0 in BIG EAST play after a 1-0 victory over Marquette on opening day. Sophomore midfielder Miguel Arila leads Creighton's front line with three goals and a pair of assists this season. Creighton's goalkeeper Matthew Hudson has four shutouts to his credit this fall while the backline has held opponents scoreless for the last 210 minutes of action. Away from Omaha, the Bluejays are 0-2-1 in 2025. Johnny Torres, who is sidelined from Saturday's match due to a red card issued last time out, is in seventh season leading his alma mater.Â
Series Stuff
Creighton leads the all-time series 13-3-0 although the teams have split the last three meetings. A season ago, the Blue Demons picked up their first road win in the series with a 2-0 victory over the Bluejays at Morrison Stadium. DePaul's Noeh Hernandez and Logan Finnegan netted goals in the outing while Santiago Davila made seven saves in net.
The Blue Demons are 2-5-0 against Creighton in matches played at Wish Field.Â
