Blue Demons to Face Butler Wednesday Evening at Hinkle Fieldhouse

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. -- DePaul women's basketball hits the road Wednesday, Jan. 21, to face Butler at Hinkle Fieldhouse. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. CT with live coverage on ESPN+, with Kelsie Kasper and Alexis Ayala on the call.
Demon Doings
DePaul enters the final third of the regular season at 4-16 overall and 1-8 in BIG EAST play. The Blue Demons are coming off one of their most balanced offensive performances of the season in an 86-77 setback to Seton Hall.
Graduate student Michelle Ojo led the team with 17 points on 60 percent shooting, adding a career-high five assists and four rebounds. Junior guard Kate Novik followed with 16 points on 77 percent shooting for her 13th double-digit game of the season. Ally Timm contributed 15 points, her highest output against a BIG EAST opponent, while sophomore Devin Hagemann added a season-best 13 points.
DePaul converted 14 Seton Hall turnovers into 22 points and recorded 20 or more assists for the seventh time this season. The team averages 16.7 assists per game, ranking fourth in the BIG EAST. The Blue Demons' bench has been a major factor this season, averaging 24.1 points per game and holding a +73 scoring margin over opponents.
Scouting Butler
The Bulldogs enter Wednesday's matchup 8-11 overall and 2-7 in league play, coming off a 73-65 loss at Villanova. Sophomores Mallory Miller and Saniya Jackson lead Butler in scoring, averaging 9.4 and 9.2 points per game. Butler's reserves are strong offensively as well, averaging 21.8 points per game, which ranks fourth in the league. Austin Parkinson is in his fourth season as head coach.
Series Stuff
DePaul has dominated the series against Butler, holding a 25-2 all-time record, including an unbeaten 14-0 mark at Hinkle Fieldhouse. The Blue Demons also swept last season's series, including a 74-67 victory in Indianapolis.
