DePaul Takes Down Seton Hall Saturday

Blue Demons win fourth-straight home contest
CHICAGO – DePaul men's basketball knocked off Seton Hall, 67-60, Saturday afternoon inside Wintrust Arena, continuing the Blue Demons' strong start to the 2026 calendar at home.
CJ Gunn led DePaul in scoring for the sixth time this season with 19 points, adding a career-high four blocks along with three rebounds and three assists. Brandon Maclin chipped in 14 points, extending his career-best streak of double-digit scoring games to six, while NJ Benson pulled down a game-high 10 rebounds.
HOW IT HAPPENED
In what was heralded as a defensive battle, DePaul (12-8, 4-5 BIG EAST) jumped out to an early 10-3 lead behind a pair of three-pointers. The Blue Demons' pressure disrupted Seton Hall (14-6, 4-5 BIG EAST), forcing five turnovers in the opening 10 minutes. Back-to-back triples from Maclin and Gunn helped DePaul stretch the advantage to double-digits as the Blue Demons carried a 30-20 lead into halftime.
The Pirates opened the second half with a quick push to trim the margin to four, but a three from Kruz McClure sparked a 12-4 DePaul run and forced a Seton Hall timeout. Leading by as many as 16, the Blue Demons converted 15-of-22 free throws in the second half to seal the win.
