DePaul Begins Home Slate Against Midwest Foes

Blue Demons battle Omaha and Creighton at XS Tennis Village
CHICAGO – DePaul women's tennis is set to open its 2026 home schedule this weekend against Omaha and Creighton at XS Tennis Village.
The matchup with Omaha is slated to begin Friday, Jan. 30, at 12:30 p.m. CT. DePaul won both of its all-time meetings against the Mavericks, most recently in 2025 with a 7-0 victory.
The Blue Demons face the Bluejays on Saturday, Jan. 31, at 4:45 p.m. CT. The Scarlet and Blue hold a 9-1 all-time record, including a 6-1 triumph on the road last season.
DePaul (1-2) claimed its first win of the dual season versus Kennesaw State, defeating the Owls 6-1 on Saturday, Jan. 24. The Scarlet and Blue clinched the doubles point and picked up momentum throughout the match. No. 1 singles Sasha Stula improved to 3-0, while both freshman Clara Nilsson and Yasemin Pehlivan secured their first collegiate singles victories.
XS Tennis Village is home cooking for the Blue Demons, who have posted a 19-4 record in front of the home faithful over the last three seasons.
Omaha (2-4) lost to UIC, 6-1, in its last outing on Thursday, Jan. 29. The Mavericks defeated Concordia Nebraska and Sioux Falls for their two victories. Head coach Adam Summitt is in his 10th year with the program, leading the team to a 15-10 clip and an 8-2 record at home last season. Omaha returns Nina Weise, who tallied a 16-5 mark in singles during the 2025 campaign, splitting time between courts two through four.
Creighton (0-1) fell to Kansas on the road in its season opener. The Bluejays take on the Marquette Golden Eagles on Friday, Jan. 30, before heading to Chicago to battle the Blue Demons. Tom Lilly guides Creighton in his 29th year at the helm. Doubles pair Annika Elvestrom and Olivia Minikel are back for the Bluejays after posting a 5-2 record in slots one and two last season.
