Blue Demons Hit the Road Against #4 UConn

HARTFORD, CONN. – Following back-to-back wins to open 2026, DePaul men's basketball heads on the road to face off against #4 UConn, Saturday, Jan. 10. The game is slated for a 11:30 a.m. tip from PeoplesBank Arena on TNT with Spero Dedes, Greg Anthony and Jared Greenberg on the call. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have the radio broadcast on Sirius XM and the DePaul Blue Demons App.
LAST TIME OUT
DePaul (10-6, 2-3 BIG EAST) won a defensive battle Tuesday night against Georgetown, 56-50. The Blue Demons defense held the Hoyas to just one second half field goal, tying an NCAA record. Brandon Maclin recorded his first career double-double in the game with 13 points and 11 rebounds, while NJ Benson tied a program BIG EAST record with 16 rebounds.
The Blue Demons defense continues to be a difference maker, holding opponents to an average of 68.4 points per game – ranking fourth in the BIG EAST. DePaul is also top-five in the league in turnovers forced per game and field goal percentage defense. The team is 7-0 on the season when holding opponents to 65 or fewer points.

UConn leads the all-time series, 22-1, dating back to 2004. The Blue Demons lone win in the series came on Jan. 31, 2007 at Allstate Arena. Saturday marks the second meeting this season in the series as UConn won in Chicago Dec. 21, 2025, 72-54.
SCOUTING UCONN
UConn (15-1, 5-0 BIG EAST) won its 11th-straight game Wednesday in an overtime contest against Providence, 103-98. Braylon Mullins led the Huskies with 24 points in the game while Silas Demary Jr. had 23 points, 15 assists and five steals.
The Huskies also boast a stellar defense, ranking 11th nationally in scoring defense and 10th in three point percentage defense, giving up an average of 63.5 points per game. UConn leads the BIG EAST and is top-50 nationally with a 56.2 effective field goal percentage. Solo Ball leads UConn offensively with 15.3 points per game, followed by 13.9 from Alex Karaban. Silas Demary Jr. leads the BIG EAST in assist-to-turnover ratio and assists per game, averaging 6.3.
