Blue Demons Host Georgetown Saturday in the South Loop

Two sides tangle at 2 p.m.
CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball welcomes Georgetown to Wintrust Arena Saturday afternoon for a BIG EAST tilt set to tipoff at 2 p.m. Dorian Craft and Doug Bruno will call the action streaming on ESPN+.

Demon Doings
The Blue Demons are in action for the first time in six days after dropping a 69-59 decision versus Providence Sunday afternoon. After a first-half scoring barrage including a 9-for-13(.690) effort from long range, DePaul scored just 16 points in the second half as the Friars erased the deficit.
Freshman guard Gina Davorija poured in a career-high 13 points to lead the Blue Demons on the offensive end of the floor while Kate Novik and Ally Timm notched nine points apiece. Graduate forward Meg Newman led DePaul on the glass with a game-high 10 rebounds for her second double-digit effort of the season.
For the season, Kate Novik leads DePaul in a multitude of statistical categories including points (11.8 per/game), rebounds (6.6 per/game) and assists (3.1 per/game). On the defensive end of the ball, Alayna West's 38 steals on the season ranks sixth among BIG EAST players.
DePaul (3-14, 0-6 BIG EAST) ranks second in the BIG EAST with 13.9 offensive rebounds per game, generating 11.1 second-chance points per contest.
Scouting Georgetown
The Hoyas enter Saturday's contest 9-6 on the season and 2-4 in BIG EAST play after a 63-46 victory at Butler Wednesday night. Junior guard Khia Miller is the lone Hoya averaging double figures scoring 11.3 points per game. As a team, Georgetown is getting to the free throw line more than any team in the BIG EAST, averaging 19.53 attempts per game and converting on 14.00 per contest. Darnell Haney is in his third season leading the program on the Hilltop.
Series Stuff
DePaul holds a 29-6 edge over Georgetown in the all-time series. The Hoyas have won three of the last four meetings, but the Blue Demons claimed an 80-76 victory in the lone matchup between the two teams last season. DePaul is 14-3 in the series in games played in Chicago.
