Blue Demons Head South to Compete in ITA Midwest Regionals

DePaul looks to build on Spartan Invite success in second fall tournament
CHICAGO – DePaul women's tennis returns to the court from Oct. 8-12, competing in the ITA Midwest Regionals hosted at Illinois in the second fall tournament of 2026.
As it stands, Sasha Sakura Stula will play in the main singles draw, while Yasemin Pehlivan, Roberta Sechi and Clara Nilsson compete in qualifying singles. The pairings of Nilsson/Sakura Stula and Pehlivan/Sechi earned automatic spots in the main doubles draw.
The tournament kicks off on Thursday, Oct. 8, with the first two qualifying singles rounds. Main draw play begins Friday, featuring the first round of main draw singles and the first two rounds of doubles matches.
Saturday, Oct. 10 will host the singles rounds of 32 and 16, alongside the doubles Round of 16. Action continues Sunday, Oct. 11, with the singles quarterfinals, plus both the quarterfinals and semifinals for doubles.
Monday, Oct. 12, will round out play with main draw doubles finals and main draw singles semifinals and finals.
Matches will begin at 9 a.m. CT each day.
Next Up
Following a two-and-a-half-week break from competition, the Blue Demons head to Toledo, Ohio, Oct. 30-31 for their final tournament of the fall season at the Toledo Hidden Duals.

The Blue Demons head to Illinois on the heels of their first tournament of 2026-27 in East Lansing, Mich., at the Spartan Invite. There, DePaul boasted three top-three finishes from Helin Alvarez (undefeated, Flight E champion), Nilsson (runner-up in Flight C) and Sakura Stula (third place in Flight A). Prankl also notched her first collegiate win, 7-5, 7-5.
As a team, DePaul went 12-9 in singles and 4-5 in doubles overall at the Spartan Invite.Next Up
