Blue Demons, Bluejays Set for Midweek Tilt

DePaul and Creighton face off for second time in as many weeks
OMAHA, NEB. – DePaul men's basketball faces Creighton for the second time in as many weeks on Wednesday, Feb. 25, in an 8 p.m. matchup. Paul Burmeister and Nick Bahe have the broadcast call on Peacock and NBC Sports Network. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine have DePaul's radio broadcast on SiriusXM and DePaul Blue Demons App.
LAST TIME OUT
After back-to-back wins, DePaul (14-13, 6-10 BIG EAST) nearly completed a second-half comeback against Providence Saturday evening at Wintrust Arena. The Friars, however, came away with the 71-68 victory.
NJ Benson recorded his third-straight game with 18 or more points, finishing with 19 points and 10 rebounds for his third double-double of the season. Benson also became the first Blue Demon since 2008 to shoot better than 75 percent from the field in three consecutive games.
Brandon Maclin recorded his fourth-straight game of 10 or more points and 11th in the last 13.
THE SERIES
Creighton leads the all-time series, 34-17, including a 14-7 advantage in Omaha. The two teams met just 10 days ago in Chicago, where DePaul earned its first win over the Bluejays in more than a decade, 72-71.
Benson led the Blue Demons with 23 points and 10 rebounds, while DePaul outrebounded Creighton 30-22. The Bluejays knocked down 14 three-pointers in the contest, including 10 in the first half.
SCOUTING CREIGHTON
Creighton (14-14, 8-9 BIG EAST) split a pair of road games last week, highlighted by a 91-84 win over No. 5 UConn. The Bluejays later fell 81-52 to No. 17 St. John's and return to CHI Health Center, where they hold a 10-4 record this season.
Four different Creighton players average double figures, led by Josh Dix at 12.1 points per game. As a team, the Bluejays lead the BIG EAST with 9.9 three-pointers per game.

DePaul closes out its final road trip of the regular season with a matchup at Marquette on Sunday, March 1. Tipoff is set for 3 p.m. on FS1.
