Blue Demons Close Out Home Slate Against Butler

Tipoff set for 6 p.m. CT at Wintrust Arena
CHICAGO – DePaul women's basketball hosts Butler on Wednesday, Feb. 25 at Wintrust Arena in its final home game of the regular season. Tipoff is set for 6 p.m. with live coverage on ESPN+.
Prior to the game, the Blue Demons will honor seniors Justis Odom, Michelle Ojo and Meg Newman in a special pregame ceremony celebrating their contributions to the program.

Demon Doings
DePaul rolls into the final week of the regular season with a 7-22 overall record, including a 4-14 mark in BIG EAST play, after a 76-67 victory over Xavier on Sunday. The Blue Demons' remaining games carry postseason implications, as DePaul, Xavier and Butler are tied for ninth in the standings and will be jockeying for BIG EAST Tournament seeding.
In Sunday's win over Xavier, junior guard Kate Novik led the way with 16 points, nine rebounds, five assists and four steals. She surpassed 1,000 career points in the victory while recording her 20th double-figure outing of the season. Michelle Ojo added 15 points on 62 percent shooting with seven rebounds, and Devin Hagemann chipped in 10 points and three steals. Four additional Blue Demons scored eight points apiece as DePaul improved to 16-0 against the Musketeers at home.
The Blue Demons turned 18 Xavier turnovers into 26 points while dominating the glass, converting 13 offensive rebounds into 16 second-chance points. In the month of February, DePaul is averaging 15.2 offensive rebounds per game while holding opponents to 7.8 boards for a +7.2 margin.
Novik was named to the BIG EAST Honor Roll for the third time this season on Monday. She is averaging team highs in points (12.5), rebounds (6.5) and assists (3.7).
Scouting Butler
Butler enters Wednesday's matchup with a 10-18 overall record and a 4-14 mark in BIG EAST play after a 66-58 win over Georgetown on Saturday. The Bulldogs are led by redshirt sophomores Saniya Jackson and Mallory Miller, who both average 9.1 points per game. As a team, Butler ranks fifth in the BIG EAST in field goal percentage at 42.2 percent. The program is led by head coach Austin Parkinson, who is in his third season at the helm.
Series Stuff
The Blue Demons are 25-3 all-time against the Bulldogs, including a 13-2 record in Chicago. Butler claimed a 73-67 win in the first meeting between the two teams on Jan. 21. Ally Timm and Michelle Ojo paced DePaul with 12 points apiece in the two-possession setback at Hinkle Fieldhouse.
