DePaul looks for third-straight road win
MILWAUKEE, WIS. – DePaul men's basketball opens the month of March with its final road contest of the regular season Sunday against Marquette. The game tips at 3 p.m. on FS1 with Jack Kizer and Phil Martelli on the call. Zach Zaidman and Dave Corzine will have the Blue Demons' radio call on Sirius XM and the DePaul Blue Demons App.
LAST TIME OUT
DePaul (15-13, 7-10 BIG EAST) won a midweek showdown against Creighton, 72-71. The road victory gave the Blue Demons their second season sweep against a conference opponent this season and seventh conference win.
As a team, DePaul shot 10-of-19 from three-point range and was fueled by a season-high 21 points from Brandon Maclin. Maclin went 8-of-12 from the floor and a perfect 3-of-3 from beyond the arc. NJ Benson added 14 points on 7-of-9 shooting with nine rebounds.
THE SERIES
Marquette leads the all-time series, 86-51, including a 47-15 advantage in Milwaukee. The longest-running series in program history, the two teams first met in 1918, when DePaul earned a 21-17 victory.
The programs met earlier this season in Chicago, where DePaul secured an 80-72 win behind CJ Gunn's 31-point performance. Gunn knocked down a career-high seven three-pointers while adding seven rebounds and three assists.
SCOUTING MARQUETTE
Marquette (10-18, 5-12 BIG EAST) picked up a 76-60 road win over Georgetown on Tuesday behind a 20-point performance from freshman Nigel James Jr. Ben Gold added his first career double-double in the Golden Eagles' first road win of the season.
James Jr. leads Marquette with 16.3 points per game, ranking fourth in the BIG EAST. He is also third in the conference with 4.9 assists per game. As a team, the Golden Eagles lead the league with 14.7 fastbreak points per game and rank second with 9.2 steals per game.

DePaul closes out the regular season with a pair of home games, beginning Wednesday, March 4 against Villanova. The game tips at 7 p.m. on Peacock from Wintrust Arena.
