Ramos lands at DePaul after two seasons at Iowa
CHICAGO – DePaul softball head coach Liz Bouck-Jagielski announced Friday the addition of Allyssa Ramos, a catcher/infielder transferring from Iowa who will join the Blue Demons for her junior season in 2027. Ramos is a native of Whittier, Calif.
"Allyssa brings a fire and competitive edge that can't be taught," Bouck-Jagielski said. "She is exactly what we need to help us secure critical wins and knows what it takes to go the extra mile. A proven leader behind the plate, Allyssa has tremendous experience and is a force offensively. Her impact on both sides of the ball will make our program better from day one."
Ramos, a native of Whittier, Calif., appeared in 49 career games in two seasons with the Hawkeyes. As a sophomore in 2026, she appeared in seven games and made one start. In her freshman campaign in 2025, she saw action in 42 games with 37 starts, posting a .245 average with 25 hits, 17 RBIs, 15 runs, seven doubles and two home runs in 102 plate appearances.
A standout at Los Alamitos High School, Ramos was a 2023 Sunset League champion, first team all-league selection and league Offensive Player of the Year. She ranked No. 15 in the Extra Innings Softball class of 2024 rankings in 2023 after ranking No. 26 in 2021. She also helped her team to a 2022 CIF Division 1 runner-up finish and earned second team all-league honors that year, along with a 2022 ESPN 18u Alliance Future All-Star nod and a 2021 coaches award.
Ramos is DePaul's third transfer portal addition this offseason, joining pitchers Caprice Barela (New Mexico) and Jasmine Reyes (Indiana).
