Reyes joins Blue Demons after two seasons at Indiana
CHICAGO -- DePaul softball head coach Liz Bouck-Jagielski announced Tuesday the addition of Jasmine Reyes, a pitcher who joins the Blue Demons from Indiana. A native of Oxnard, Calif., Reyes brings two seasons of collegiate experience to DePaul.
"Jasmine is a power pitcher who can attack hitters with velocity while changing speeds effectively to keep them off balance," said Bouck-Jagielski. "What stands out most, though, is her competitive spirit and winning pedigree. Having competed at the highest level of college softball, she understands what it takes to succeed in the biggest moments. We're excited to welcome Jasmine to our staff and look forward to the impact she'll make as we pursue a BIG EAST Championship and an NCAA Tournament berth."
Reyes appeared in 35 career games for the Hoosiers with 17 starts, throwing 78.1 innings with 37 strikeouts and a 5.81 ERA. As a freshman in 2025, she earned a spot on the Softball America Freshman to Watch List after making 14 starts in 26 appearances, pitching three complete games and posting a 5.20 ERA with 32 strikeouts across 67.1 innings while holding opponents to a .289 batting average. She made her Indiana debut against Stony Brook on Feb. 7, then picked up her first win the following day with a six-inning outing against the same opponent. Reyes struck out four batters in a win over UIC on Feb. 21, threw her first career no-hitter with four strikeouts in five innings against IU Indianapolis on March 7, and tossed two scoreless innings in a win at Notre Dame on March 18. As a sophomore in 2026, she went 2-0 in 10 appearances with four starts, throwing 16.0 innings with nine strikeouts.
A standout at Rio Mesa High School, Reyes was a two-time All-Ventura County selection and a three-time pitcher of the year honoree. She went 12-0 with seven shutouts and a 0.65 ERA in 2023, finishing her prep career with an 0.87 ERA, a 30-4 record and 300 strikeouts. She was ranked in the Top 100 of Extra Innings Softball's 2024 prospect rankings and No. 27 in the West Region.
Reyes plans to major in psychology at DePaul. She joins right-hander Caprice Barela as the newest additions to the DePaul pitching staff.
