Schwartz Notches Second BIG EAST Honor in 2026, Makes Honor Roll

CHICAGO — Senior defender Kristen Schwartz joined this week's BIG EAST Player of the Week Honor Roll after helping secure the team's fourth clean sheet of the season in a 0-0 decision with Seton Hall.
The honor marks Schwartz's second conference recognition of the season, following a BIG EAST Player of the Week selection on Aug. 24.
At home to open BIG EAST play against undefeated Seton Hall, the Blue Demons, bolstered by 90 minutes from Schwartz, held the Pirates to their third scoreless result in a row.
Schwartz's work on the backline prevented five of Seton Hall's six total shots from reaching Mason Hillery in goal. Hillery only needed to execute one save through 90 minutes. The veteran defender also helped successfully reroute seven Pirate corner kick opportunities.
This season, Schwartz started all nine matches for the Blue Demons, playing all 810 minutes.
