At Chicago's Whitney Young High School, led the Dolphins to back-to-back appearances in the Illinois Class 4A state championship game including a state title in 2017 as a junior.
Averaged nearly 20 points and six rebounds per game as a senior while earning consensus first team All-State honors... finished fifth in voting for Mr. Basketball in the state of Illinois... a consensus top-10 player in the Illinois Class of 2018.
Earned first team All-State honors from the Chicago Sun-Times, the Chicago Tribune and the IHSA... a third team All-State selection as a junior by the IHSA, averaging 13.6 points and better than five rebounds per game...

Personal

Son of Deanna Liberty... uncle, Marcus Liberty, played college basketball at Illinois from 1988-1990 and was a member of the 1989 Final Four team... selected by the Denver Nuggets in the second round of the 1990 NBA Draft... played for the Nuggets and Detroit Pistons in four NBA seasons... Marcus was a prep standout at King College Prep, where he was a McDonald's All-American and a national player of the year.
