Over his five seasons leading the program, DePaul posted a pair of top three finishes at the BIG EAST Championship. DePaul's bid for a third straight top three finish in 2020 was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The top team finish of the 2021-22 campaign was a fourth-place showing at the Tom Tontimonia Invitational while four different players posted top 25 individual finishes throughout the season.
DePaul's 2020-21 season saw the Blue Demons claim the team title at the Alabama A&M Golf Classic and take second in the John Dallio Match Play. The Blue Demons finished sixth at the BIG EAST Championship, but saw three individual finishes in the top 16. Conor Glennon was tied for 10th, Nik Gatmaytan was in a group in 13th place and Artemiy Yalovenko finished in 16th place.
The shortened 2019-20 season saw the Blue Demons finish in a tie for second at the NKU Fall Classic in September for the best finish of the first half of the season. DePaul opened the spring schedule by placing third in the eight-team Earl Yestingsmeier Match Play. The Blue Demons knocked off host Ball State in the match before falling to Eastern Michigan. In the third-place match, DePaul posted an impressive 4.5-1.5 win over Dayton.Â
The 2018-19 team posted the program's best finish at the BIG EAST Championship with a second-place showing at Callawassie Island. Charlie Spencer-White finished in a tie for second while Joe McCarthy was tied for eighth. Spencer-White's finish was the best by a Blue Demon at the conference event while Campbell Wolf also posted a top 20 finish in a tie for 17th place.
In his first season leading the program, DePaul finished third at BIG EAST Championship and placed four players in the top 20. The third-place finish marked the third top-three finish in the last four years for the Blue Demons. Charlie Spencer-White finished in a tie for sixth while Joe McCarthy followed in a group in eighth place. The duo marked the second straight year with two Blue Demons in the top 10 and the third time for DePaul in BIG EAST Championship play.
As an assistant coach with the Blue Demons, he helped the program to a fourth-place finish at the BIG EAST Championship and was named the head coach following the announcement of Betty Kaufmann's retirement in April 2017.
Prior to DePaul, he spent a year at Loyola-Chicago where he helped the Ramblers women’s golf team to a program-best sixth place finish at the Missouri Valley Conference Championship.Â
Schiene was previously the head men’s golf coach at Chicago State for five seasons where the program saw great success under his leadership, includng a 42-stroke improvement in his first season. He was credited with bringing the 2012-13 junior college National Champion in David Keenan to Chicago State in 2013. Â
Â
Before he joined the collegiate coaching ranks, Schiene competed for 15 years on the Canadian, South African, Asian and Australian Tours. He was a member of the PGA Tour in 1993.
