Nate Jelinek is in his first year as the assistant director of video operations and social strategy. He transitioned into the role at the beginning of 2022 after serving as a communications assistant since August 2020.
In his position, Jelinek leads the video and social operations of the communications department. With support from the rest of the communications staff and student workers, Jelinek plans and executes digital and social creative content across DePaul's 15 intercollegiate athletic programs.
During his year and a half as a communications assistant at DePaul, Jelinek led communication efforts for the Blue Demons' men's and women's soccer programs along with cross country and track & field. Jelinek joined the Blue Demons in Lincoln Park after graduating from the University of Missouri in 2020. During his stint in Columbia, Mo., Jelinek served as a student assistant within the Mizzou Athletics communications department for his four years on campus. Jelinek worked with the Tigers' collection of college athletics programs and eventually transitioned into handling cross country and track & field duties during the 2019-20 school year.
Jelinek also worked with the Indianapolis Colts as a training camp communications intern during the summer of 2019. In the summers prior, Jelinek served as the public relations intern for the Madison Mallards, a Northwoods League baseball team in Madison, Wis.
Jelinek, a Lodi, Wis. native, graduated from the University of Missouri with a degree in journalism and a minor in business in May 2020. He is scheduled to graduate with a Master's in public relations and advertising from DePaul University in June 2022.
