Megan Hinz was named volunteer assistant coach in August, 2018 by DePaul women's soccer head coach Erin Chastain.
The former Michigan goalkeeper started four matches in her senior season (2017) for the Wolverines and combined for a shutout against Washington, Illinois and Toledo.
In 180 minutes, Hinz made nine saves and allowed one goal for a goals-against average (GAA) of 0.50.
Hinz finished her career ranked in Michigan’s top 10 in GAA, wins, shutouts and saves and was a three-time member of the Big Ten All-Academic Team.
She started twice as a junior, making a total of nine saves. She also received the U-M Athletic Academic Achievement award
As a sophomore, Hinz recorded six shutouts including No. 11 Minnesota and No. 22 Northwestern. Hinz also came away with clean sheets against Maryland, Minnesota, Purdue and Detroit.
She played in 21 matches with 19 starts and led a sturdy defense with a 1.05 GAA and 53 saves. Hinz made a season-high seven saves in a 1-1, double-overtime tie at No. 25 Rutgers.
The Wolverine keeper started 17 matches as a freshman and finished with a 0.85 GAA and 57 saves. She recorded shutouts against Indiana, Maryland, Central Michigan, Toledo and Bowling Green in her collegiate debut.
