Blair Banwart was named Assistant Director of Athletics Facilities in 2009 after returning to DePaul athletics in a full-time capacity in 2008. Banwart is repsonsible for all of DePaul's outdoor facility operations including Wish Field, Cacciatore Stadium and Lane Stadium while assisting with daily operations of McGrath-Phillips Arena.
Banwart first began working with the DePaul facilities staff in 2000. From 2002-2005 he served as the Director of Athletics Facilities at Loyola-Chicago.
Banwart is also a part-time faculty member at DePaul in the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences. He has taught a class titled "Chicago Cubs" for DePaul's Discover/Explore Chicago classes that take in not only the franchise's storied history, but also its impact on the surrounding neighborhood.
He earned his Master of Arts in Writing & Publishing at DePaul in 1997 and a Master of Fine Arts degree in creative writing from School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1999.
