In his 41st year at DePaul, Mike Lenti is now in his 22nd year leading the athletics facilities department. Lenti previously served as Director of Facilities for six years until his promotion in August 1989.
Among Lenti's varied responsibilities are managing the Sullivan Athletics Center, McGrath-Phillips Arena, Wish Field and Caccatorie Stadium. Additionally, he is responsible for locating practice times, ordering equipment, uniforms and acting as a liason for all visiting teams to Wintrust Arena.
A native of Chicago, Lenti graduated from St. Francis DeSales High School, where he was an All-State football and baseball player and earned Who's Who All-America honors in football. A 1980 graduate of St. Xavier College in Chicago, Lenti was an All-America second baseman for the Cougars his senior season.
After graduation from St. Xavier, Lenti was drafted by the San Francisco Giants and played for Great Falls, Mont. in the rookie league in 1980 and the Giants' Class A team in Clinton, Iowa in 1981. The next season, he played with the Pittsburgh Pirates Class AA affiliate before retiring from professional baseball.
He also played 11 seasons for the Midlothian White Sox semipro team. In the summer of 1992, he helped Midlothian to the National Baseball Congress (NBC) national championship after runner-up finishes in 1988 and 1990. In 1982 he played an integral part in helping the Northbrook Hornets win the AABV National Championship in Battle Creek, Mich.
Lenti resides in Park Ridge.
