Bobby Simmons played for the DePaul men's basketball program from 1998-01 where he made an immediate impact. Alongside fellow hall of famer, Quentin Richardson, Simmons helped bring DePaul to the second round of the 1999 National Invitation Tournament. Throughout his career, Simmons scored 1,263 points, 700 rebounds, 207 assists and 124 steals. As a sophomore he averaged 13.1 points and 7.9 rebounds per game to help lead the Blue Demons to a 2000 NCAA Tournament. Simmons earned All-Conference USA honors in 2000 and 2001. He remains the only player in school history with 1,000 career points, 700 rebounds, 200 assists and 100 steals.Â
Simmons was drafted in the second round of the 2001 NBA Draft by the Seattle SuperSonics, launching a 12-year career in the NBA. He tallied a total of 4,189 career points and 1,791 rebounds and was the 2005 NBA Most Improved Player.Â
