Michael Leads Men's Tennis At ITA Championships

EAST LANSING – DePaul’s Andy Michael captured two singles wins at the annual ITA Midwest Championships held last weekend at the Michigan State Tennis Center.

Michael, a junior, opened play with a 6-2, 6-2 win over Justin Holsen of Marquette and followed that with a 6-2, 6-4 victory over Scott Mayer of the Purdue. He lost his third match to Jeremy Wurtzman of Ohio State, 6-2, 6-1.

Michael also teamed with Robert Kurek in doubles play to win their opening round match, beating Camper and Grombacher from Wright State 8-1. They fell in the second round to the duo of Borendame and Currie from Butler, 8-6.
