Women's Basketball Loses At Louisville, 66-54

Louisville, Ky (Feb. 11) - University of Louisville women's basketball team defeated the Blue Demons of DePaul 66-54 on Feb. 11. The Cardinals have now clinched the American Division title in Conference USA.
The Cardinals improve to 17-7 overall and 12-1 in Conference USA.
The Cards got off to a quick start with a basket from junior center Shamika Ingram and a steal and lay-up from point-guard Sara Nord in the first minute of the game.
The Blue Demons tied the score three times and took the lead once in the first half of play.
Coach Clapp confidently went to his bench support early in the game running Janelle Antoine at the point guard position, picking up and assist on basket from freshman guard Marcia Alvarado.
The Cards shot only 30 percent in the first half ending the half with a 27-25 lead. The Blue Demons came out in the second half scoring early to tie the game at 27.
Nord answered by hitting a three-point field goal from her backyard in Indiana to establish the lead for the remaining of the game.
Louisville held DePaul to 39 percent from the field behind the defensive efforts of Antione, Ingram and freshman Kim Graham.
Sophmore forward Carol Brown produced a solid effort with seven points, eight rebounds, and three blocks. Nord was one assist away from her sixth double-double for the year with 13 points and 9 assists.
