Oregon State Downs DePaul Softball, 1-0

FRESNO, Calif. - In a rematch of their meeting from a week ago that ended in a tie, no. 14 Oregon State (21-10-1) was able to score a run in the first inning and hang on for the win in a game dominated by pitching.
The Beavers brought its lone run across the plate in the first inning after Shawna Feldt led off with a base hit and went to second after Brooke Rutschman's sacrifice bunt. Feldt later scored on Steph Adam's RBI single to left field.
On the hill, Sarah Martz threw six innings allowing six hits and just the one run for the Blue Demons (10-4-1). Monica Hoffman threw five innings with four hits to pick up her seventh win of the season, while Draper pitched two perfect innings of relief ball earning a save for the Beavers.
Gina Ramacci continued to swing the bat well picking up a base hit, her eighth of the weekend. In DePaul's six games, Ramacci finished 8-for-17 and drove in two runs.
The Blue Demons finished the tournament with a 3-3 record and placed fourth overall. No. 1 UCLA, no. 7 Fresno State and Oregon State took the top three spots.
DePaul will be off during the week as it prepares to return to California next weekend for the Kia Klassic hosted by Cal-St. Fullerton. The Blue Demons open the tournament against no. 6 Arizona State Thursday, March 15.
