Charlotte took the first doubles match, defeating David Pitsch and Sanjay Jeram in #2 doubles 8-4. DePaul's Dan Bennett and Andy Michael answered quickly, soundly defeating Charlotte 8-2 on the third court to tie the match. It came down to the #1 doubles court, where Charlotte's Nordwall and Peterson proved too strong, coming through 8-6 over Robert Kurek and Maciek Jozwiak.
The 49ers took this momentum into singles where they won at 1, 2 and 4 singles to garner the necessary four points. All three matches were extremely close, as Jozwiak fell in three sets to his opponent, and Kurek and Bennett each lost in two close sets. Sanjay Jeram's match was called after Charlotte reached four points. Andy Michael went 2-0 on the day after winning at #5 singles, and Neil Johnston posted a victory at #6. The Demons are now off for final exams and will next be in action when they take on the University of South Florida on their spring trip through Florida.
