Chouinard Named C-USA Pitcher of the Week

CHICAGO--DePaul pitcher Lindsay Chouinard has been named the Conference USA Pitcher of the Week for the third time this season. Chouinard was named Pitcher of the Week Feb. 11 and Feb. 25.
Chouinard, a junior from Fresno, Calif., earned wins in four of DePaul's five victories last week. In 24 1/3 innings pitched, she completed three games and struck out 30 with only three walks. She picked up victories in both games of a doubleheader against Houston on March 30 extending her win streak to six.
On the season, Chouinard is 11-2 with one save and her 0.81 ERA leads Conference USA. She has completed 11 of the 12 games she has started with five shutouts. In 95 innings she has struck out 95 batters walking 11.
The 16th-ranked Blue Demons finished the week with a 5-0 record. DePaul sits at 19-6 on the season and its 7-1 Conference USA mark is good for a two-game lead over Southern Miss. The Blue Demons travel to Valparaiso for a doubleheader Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. and return home to host Saint Louis Saturday and Sunday at noon.
