For Chouinard, it was the second straight week she has claimed the award. The lefty went 2-0 with wins over Illinois State and Southern Miss, both of whom are receiving votes in the national poll, while registering her sixth and seventh shutouts of the season. Chouinard has not surrendered a run in her last 29 innings and has yet to give up an earned run in conference play. She is 6-0 in the league in 40 innings pitched and is limiting opposing batters to a .081 average against her.
Chouinard is 15-4 this season with a 0.58 ERA in 24 games pitched.
Bouck, a speedster who changes games with her feet more often than her bat, garnered the first "Hitter of the Week" award of her career. Bucking that trend, she delivered the game winning RBI of a 1-0 win over Southern Miss with a two-out bunt single. In addition, she had hits in all five games en route to batting .429 on the week. Bouck also extended her season high hitting streak to 11 games. She didn't stray from utilizing her quickness though as the shortstop swiped eight bases in eight attempts; Bouck has not been thrown out in her last 19 attempts.
For the year, Bouck leads the team in batting average (.382), runs (31) and stolen bases (21).
DePaul is 33-8-1 (11-1 in Conference USA) and is ranked ninth in the nation by the USA Today/NFCA Coaches Poll. The Blue Demons were 5-1 last week with the loss snapping its winning streak at 19 games; the streak was the longest current streak in the nation.
