DePaul 4th seed in NCAA Region VII

With a 50-14-1 record, the DePaul softball team has earned the fourth seed in NCAA Region VII. The Blue Demons will travel to Iowa City, Iowa to play third seed South Carolina Thursday, May 17 at 4:30 p.m.
The University of Iowa is the regional host and is the no. 2 seed in the region. The top seed went to Notre Dame.
Of the six teams in Region VII, four are ranked in the top 25. Notre Dame, eighth, DePaul, 13th, Iowa, 15th and South Carolina, 22nd. Illinois State and Western Illinois round out the field.
DePaul has played three of its five opponents this season. The Blue Demons defeated Western Illinois 8-0 in five innings Feb. 18 and swept a doubleheader from Illinois State 4-0, 3-0 on April 10. The team lost both ends of a doubleheader to Notre Dame 7-6, 5-1 on April 19.
