Softball Finishes Regular Season With Sweep of UAB

Chouinard hasn’t allowed an earned run in 74 1/3 innings pitched, 2/3 innings short of the conference record. She improves to 25-4 this season with 15 shutouts and lowers her ERA to 0.45.
The Blue Demons jumped on the board first for the third consecutive game in the bottom of the first inning. Sarah Martz tripled to left center with one out and came home when Christina Douglas grounded out to first base.
In the fifth, Saskia Roberson led off with a single. Sarah Douglas followed with her home run to right field, tying Roberson and Christina Douglas for the team lead. Molly Sircher came up next and laced a double to center field. After Liz Bouck sacrificed her to third base, Sircher scored the final run of the ball game on a wild pitch making it 4-0.
Sarah Douglas finished 1-for-2 with two RBIs and a run scored and Martz went 2-for-3 with a run scored.
Megan Stephenson took the loss for UAB falling to 14-10.
DePaul finishes the regular season with a 43-9 record and set a conference record recording its 20th win with only one defeat. UAB drops to 36-20 with a 14-10 conference mark.
Up next, the Blue Demons head to Tampa for the C-USA tournament. First round action begins May 9 and runs through May 12.
