Christina Douglas Named C-USA Hitter of the Week

Douglas, a sophomore from Crown Point, Ind., batted .500 (10-for-20) with two home runs, two doubles, 10 RBIs and five runs scored as the Blue Demons won seven of eight games last week. She hit her first home run of the week in a victory over Oakland and picked up her sixth homer of the year in a win over UAB on Saturday.
On the season, Douglas is batting .343 and is second on the team with 29 RBIs. She leads the team with a .598 slugging percentage and is tied for the team lead with her six home runs.
The 18th-ranked Blue Demons finished the regular season with a 43-9 record and won Conference USA with a 20-1 mark. Up next, the team travels to Tampa, Fla. as the number one seed in the C-USA Softball Tournament. The tournament will be held May 9-11, hosted by the University of South Florida. DePaul will open the tournament at 5:00 on Thursday, May 9, against the winner of the Louisville vs. South Florida game.
